Sighthound Collar in Red
Our sighthound collar design is based on a traditional “Fishtail” style template, however, we’ve extended the wider part of the collar to offer extra protection around your dog’s neck. This has been particularly useful for our whippet when he decides to take flight after seeing a squirrel!
The classic sighthound collar is handmade in our workshop from the finest, 100% vegetable tanned, full grain black leather from Walpier, in a range of fantastic colours. This is paired with equally premium, British made solid brass or nickel-plated brass roller buckle, rivets and D ring. The hardware is very sturdy for even the most wilful of dogs and is rustproof.
The leather collar will evolve over time with wear as the dog’s oils are absorbed creating a beautiful and unique patina, an ongoing record of your adventures in a way.
Please note, leather is a natural product so there may be small variations in colour and markings. All leather when dyed has the potential to leech their colour if they become wet. It rarely happens, however, if it does, it’s most likely with the red leather. Although the dye is totally harmless, if you have a white or light coloured dog that enjoys splashing in water it may stain their fur initially. Please call me if you would like further information.
