Nitecore NU25 MCT UL Rechargeable LED Head Torch
The Nitecore NU25 MCT UL rechargeable head torch is an alternate version to the NU25 MCT head torch and offers the same specification, but with a ultra lightweight head band design.
It offers warm white, cool white and neutral white light from the multiple colour temperature (MCT) UHE LEDs, with a maximum output of 400 lumens. There is also an auxiliary red LED offering high, low and flashing outputs, as well as SOS and beacon modes from the neutral white LEDs.
Two buttons are located on top, a power button which turns the light on/off and controls the brightness levels of the various LEDs, and a mode button which changes between the white light colour temperatures, gives direct access to red and enters the special modes. A lockout function prevents accidental activation of the light when not in use, and can be done be simultaneously holding both buttons for 2 seconds until the light flashes 3 times. To exit lockout hold the buttons down again and the light will come on in neutral white ultra-low.
The headband design features a double strap of thin elastic the whole way round instead of a traditional headband which has multiple benefits such as reducing weight, reflective properties, glowing in the dark and an easy adjustment toggle for a perfect fit. Additionally the head torch has a hinged bracket, that is hollowed to reduce weight further, and allows the light to be tilted and adjusted.
Four battery indicators sit beside the LEDs and will display remaining battery power when the mode button is pressed once while the light is off. All four lights is approx. 75-100%, three is approx. 50-75%, two is approx. 25-50% and one is approx. 0-25% and the light should be charged as soon as possible.
The NU25 MCT UL has an integrated 700 mAh lithium-ion battery that is charged via the USB-C charging port on the side of the torch. Reveal the port by lifting the dust cover and then simply plug the included USB-C cable into the charging port and the other end into a suitable USB-C power source. The charging indicators on the top will flash in turn before becoming solid, and once all four indicators are solid after approx. 1 hour, 15 minutes the charging will be complete.
