Fenix LD30 LED Torch
The Fenix LD30 is a compact torch that offers 1600 lumens maximum output from the Luminus SST40 white LED.
It is powered by one 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery and included is the Fenix ARB-L18-3500U USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can be charged via the built-in micro USB port using the included USB cable. It is also compatible with the other Fenix ARB-L18 battery series and two CR123A non-rechargeable lithium metal batteries can also be used in the torch in an emergency situation.
Five brightness levels, plus strobe and SOS mode are available and operated with the tactical tail switch and side functional switch. The LD30 is turned on and off with the tactical tail switch by fully pressing it down, and it also offers a momentary function by half pressing the button (the light will turn off when the button is released). Once the torch is on, the side switch will cycle through eco, low, mid, high and turbo with each press.
Strobe is activated by holding the side switch for 0.8 seconds when the torch is turned on and a single press will change to SOS. To return the torch to the previous brightness setting press and hold the side but for 0.8 seconds again. The last used brightness setting (excluding strobe) will be remembered next time the light is turned on.
A built-in battery level indicator in the centre of the side switch displays the battery status for 3 seconds each time the torch is turned on. It will show either a solid green, green flashing, solid red or red flashing light. A low battery voltage warning function is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level when the voltage drops below the preset level. Once it reaches eco output the battery level indicator will flash to remind you to charge your 18650 battery.
Intelligent overheat protection will automatically downshift the brightness output by 30 lumens every 6 seconds after 5 minutes constant use until around 1200 lumens is reached, or if the temperature is over 55°C in the turbo or high setting the lumens will be decreased in order to lower the temperature. The two way body clip allows for versatile attachment and the small size makes it easy for carrying in a pocket, handbag or backpack.

Tested to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L18-3500 lithium-ion rechargeable battery in laboratory conditions. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
